Process Engineer

Position Summary

Catalent is looking to recruit a Process Engineer to join a growing team at our site in Woodstock, IL.

The Process Engineer is an exciting new role focused on hardware, instrumentation, and controls. The Process Engineer will partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Product Development to identify and implement robust engineering solutions that will help our site become more efficient, capable, and cost effective.

The Role

  • Work with internal customers to improve key commercial processes or equipment by providing engineering technical guidance to production teams

  • Document process improvement ideas through site, regional and global update meetings; ensure changes will meet GMP regulation and consult with external resources as necessary to ensure appropriate knowledge base is established for decisions

  • Lead and/or collaborate with engineering on the design (including all required calculations, sizing and development of all relevant specifications) of process equipment used to improve floor processes; review engineering specifications for the various facets of the process integration including pneumatics, electronics, controls, etc.

  • Act as a technical subject matter contributor on multi-disciplinary project teams

  • Determine process capabilities and bottlenecks, implement improvements, and develop contingency plans for capacity/productivity increases

The Candidate

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering\Chemistry\Pharmacy or related discipline required

  • Working knowledge of databases and networking as well as general IT competency

  • Experience identifying sources of variation and designing processes to control

  • Demonstrated ability to implement instrumentation and capture data about the safety, efficiency, and reliability of machines used in manufacturing

  • Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt) or LEAN master Certification is a plus
