Maintenance Systems Specialist

Position Summary

The position is responsible for developing, implementing and continuously improving & updating systems and processes that ensure accurate and timely availability of finished goods, supplies, and parts. This position entails additional responsibility for organizing and directing the efforts of maintenance personnel in achieving effective preventative and continuous improvement of maintenance and repair systems through management of the electronic work order systems as well as assisting the Departmental Head. This position requires responsibility for maintaining the Computer Maintenance Management System, the Work Order systems, and serves as a facility liaison providing pertinent information for FDA and Client based audits. The Maintenance Systems Specialist reports to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Systems Specialist is a crucial role insuring that Catalent has the proper supplies and parts to create our products which supports our Patient First philosophy.

The Role

  • Analyze inventory count adjustments to determine root cause, and develop procedures to eliminate future occurrences of extreme variances.

  • Assist in the identification and implementation of new technology to improve inventory accuracy and other parts department functions.

  • Lead annual inventory audit in conjunction with Finance.

  • Create and manage proper inventory control procedures, transactions and training.

  • Develop FIFO system and identify ROP to ensure continuous in working order equipment and Just in Time production as applied to parts supplies.

  • Monitor inventory turnover and help to eliminate excess inventory.

The Candidate

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.

  • JD Edwards experience preferred.

  • 5 + years total work experience in operations, maintenance or facilities area.

  • Minimum 1 year experience in any of the following: inventory management, operations management, distribution, purchasing, or related experience.

  • Familiarity of Lean Production, and Kanban transformation desired.

  • Knowledge of GMPs, Housekeeping/Sanitation.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, talking, writing, listening

  • Occasional bending, grasping, carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching

  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds
