The Lead Hand Level 1 reports to the Production Supervisor.
Strathroy, Ontario is one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. The Lead Hand Level 1 is responsible to assist with schedule compliance, equipment and room processes including support and processing rooms in accordance to SOP’s and GMP’s. The Lead Hand Level 1 provides production support to the area through the preparation of equipment, assisting departmental personnel to facilitate efficient changeovers.
Assist with daily reviews of cleaning schedules, equipment and room logs, processes, procedures and in process documentation; daily safety checks, report safety issues and work towards resolutions. Assist with performing Health and Safety Risk Assessments.
Comply and assist with facilitating SOP/GMP review and compliance for the area; participate in Quality Compliance audits and assist with maintaining compliance.
Assist Encapsulation operators with changeovers and assist/replace operators as required. Assist with leading training and qualifying employees. Assist operators to continuously improve changeover times without compromising quality.
Troubleshoot, correct problems, assist with issuance and tracking progress of work order requests of equipment and areas within the Encapsulation area.
Manufacture gaskets for medicine pumps, shut-off valves, distributor plates and wedges. Maintain a small parts inventory with minimum stock levels, replenish supplies when required.
Ensure area is in Audit Ready state at all times. Promote shift courtesy and ensure the area and workstations are properly cleaned and stocked for on coming shifts.
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Qualified Encapsulation Operator
Good communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills.
Strong mathematical skills
Attention to detail, organized, ability to multi-task
Ability to provide leadership and ability to inspire and motivate others.
Adaptable and ready to manage change efficiently.
