Job Title: Director of Engineering and Maintenance
Reports to: Head of Operations
Location: Strathroy Ontario, Canada
As a member of the site leadership team this position is responsible for the oversight and leadership of engineering functions within the Softgel division in Ontario, Canada. The responsibility includes all buildings and services for commercial, development, and business operations across multiple Ontario sites. The individual will direct and lead a cross site team to meet and exceed required business and regulatory standards. The individual will work within a global platform that includes interaction with global functional groups and leaders while representing the overall requirements of the Canadian business aligned to the overall needs of the company. This responsibility includes leadership for engineering and maintenance staff including process engineering, facilities, utilities, process equipment engineering and maintenance, process improvement and capital projects.
Leading people through the employee life cycle with strong ability to mentor and provide timely feedback to subordinates.
Leading and managing cross functional groups including cross site and department relationships.
Foster Catalent standards such as the Patient First value and leadership competencies as part of the Site Leadership Team.
Manage departments to meet and exceed company and regulatory requirements such as Health Canada, FDA, MOL, TSSA, OHSA.
Leadership for general facility and maintenance management.
Leadership of capital investments and general projects including the creation, management, and approval of project plans and strategic documents.
Leading continuous and process improvement program and activity including the implementation of new systems, processes, and equipment.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering and registered P.Eng (Professional Engineer).
Minimum 10 years’ experience in engineering/engineering management, preferably in a pharmaceutical/Health Canada/FDA-regulated work environment.
Minimum 10 years people leadership experience leading teams.
Experience and strong understanding of regulators such as Health Canada, FDA, MOL, TSSA and OHSA.
Experience with management of process and product investigations related to off track situations.
