Manager, Global Security Operations Center and Site Security Leader

Position Summary

Global Security is a key business partner supporting Catalent Pharma Solutions People, Property and Assets. Reporting into the site General Manager with a strong operational dotted line to the Director, Global Security, this position will oversee, implement and manage the security programs at the company HQ site in Somerset, NJ in addition to overseeing the operation of the Global Security Operations Center. In conjunction with the Director, Global Security, this role will also be responsible for developing, implementing and managing Global Security Systems technology and standards and assisting other SSLs in implementing security systems projects as needed.

The role will require an understanding of the risks to pharmaceutical businesses, and the strategies necessary to mitigate these risks through the management of a 24/7 GSOC. This requires identifying critical assets globally, assessing threats and risks and ensuring an effective process of notification and communication globally.

Catalent in Somerset, NJ is home to oral solid dose manufacturing operations as part of the Advanced Delivery Technology (ADT) business unit. On site we have our state-of-the-art laboratory, clinical, and commercial manufacturing plant for oral dose forms in addition to being the Catalent Center of Excellence for handling Highly Potent Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.

The Role

  • Ensure compliance to site and corporate security standards, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food & Drug Adminstration (FDA), Customs, and other applicable regulatory security requirements

  • Ensure crisis communications and emergency notifications are managed effectively

  • Manage team of Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) operators and site security personnel being accessible 24/7 for emergency situations and maintaining security technology systems (i.e. Access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection and mass notifications systems).

  • Ensure highly effective partnerships with contract security service providers

  • Develop and execute general security employee training and awareness programs

  • Ensure effective liaison and collaboration with local law enforcement, Fire Department, and Community Emergency Response Team

  • Manage and oversee the site Crisis Management and Business Continuity (CMBC) program and maintain the BC/Security incident reporting system.

The Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields or equivalent combined education, experience, training or certification. Masters Degree Preferred.

  • Experience with security related to DEA controlled substance regulations including support of regulatory inspections.

  • 5 years minimum security experience (combined corporate security and/or military/law enforcement). 10+ Years preferred.

  • Experience within the safety, security, facilities, and disaster recovery disciplines

  • Experience working in a high paced 24/7 Global Security Operations Center environment (or similar)

  • Possess an industry recognized security or crisis management certification (I.e. CPP, or CBCP)
