HR Generalist (Labor Relations)

The HR Generalist is responsible for providing support to the Human Resources Manager-Labor Relations and the Human Resources Director. The HR Generalist is responsible for administering policies and programs in several of the following areas: change management, employment law, employee relations, labor law, labor relations, organizational development, salary administration, performance management, training, recruitment and various other HR-related programs/initiatives.

The role of the HR Generalist is critical to meeting the needs of our employees and patients. It directly affects employees if proper support is not provided in an efficient manner. Efficiency, time-management and quality work is a must to be successful in this role which ultimately impacts patient first!

The Role

  • Ensures alignment of such policies, procedures, plans, programs and budgets with those of Catalent.

  • Provides counsel to managers and employees on human resources issues, organization structure and development.

  • Provides general human resources services to the respective business partners and employee population, answering HR related inquiries.

  • First line of contact with Union Leadership and the administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement

  • Develops and delivers presentations as appropriate, including new hire onboarding.

  • Ensures the up-to-date accuracy of employee information within Catalent systems (HRIS, applicant tracking, time and attendance, etc.); develops and distributes appropriate reports.

  • Coordinates and maintains all employee FMLA, Disability, Workers Compensation and Leave of Absence activities for the site.

  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and provides summary and trending data to senior management

  • Facilitates Benefits Annual Open Enrollment training and process

  • Manages site annual Bio-Metric Screening activities

  • Serves as backup to the HR Coordinator for payroll administrative activities

The Candidate

  • Associates Degree required with a minimum of 5 years relevant labor relations experience or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Good negotiation skills. Ability to “get the job done” and take responsibility for results without direct authority. Ability to coordinate, facilitate and organize resources

  • Knowledgeable in HR management concepts with a strong consultative, and results-oriented approach

  • Knowledge of employment and labor law

  • Ability to develop effective relationships with line managers and employees; strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills, adaptable to the level of audience
