Facility Maintenance Technician

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for but not limited to all HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Carpentry, Building Maintenance, Back-up generator and Compressed air equipment supporting Catalent’s clinical facilities in Philadelphia. The Facility Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance required for all scheduled and emergency repairs and be accountable for all documentation required for each performed work order. The Facility Maintenance Technician will install new equipment when required and support and assist all outside contractors as needed and have availability 24/7 to handle all facility related emergencies in all weather conditions.
The role of the Facility Maintenance Technician is critical to the end user which are our patients. It directly affects patients risk and safety if HVAC and refrigeration are not working properly at all times. Quality, safety and ability to act quickly is a must to be successful in this role!
Demonstrate the ability and dexterity to utilize hand tools and power tools.
Perform all work in accordance with company policies and regulations contained in company GMP’s, Safety standards and standard operating procedures.
Performs all work with the “Safety First” mentality.
Performs Equipment Rigging, Lifting and Moving. Certified and Licensed in Fork Lift Operation, Aerial Lifts and Fall Protection Systems
Performs and not limited to: All Building Maintenance functions – Basic electrical, plumbing, roof repairs, floor repairs, drywall repairs, painting, building repairs/ modifications, carpentry, equipment repairs and modifications
Effectively read and interpret equipment mechanical and electrical/electronic blueprints, sketches with the ability to draft updates as needed.
Demonstrates troubleshooting expertise in electrical/ mechanical systems, pneumatics and packaging electrical/ electronic systems (as per training administered). Identifies and resolves issues utilizing systematic problem-solving methods.
Provide guidance, assistance, leadership, and training to other maintenance mechanics in the performance of their duties.
High School Degree required with 4 years equivalent experience as an HVAC/Refrigeration maintenance technician and basic electrical knowledge
Works independently with minimal supervision from manager/supervisor.
Minimum Class one and class two HVAC and/or Universal CFC license, Gastight certifications preferred.
Must be available on off hours to respond to facility emergency situations
Must be able to climb ladders and perform rigorous tasks in all weather conditions
