Job Title: Director, Project Management
Reports to: Director, Clinical Supplies Management North America
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Director, Project Management will be responsible for providing leadership to the Clinical Supply Services (CSS) facilities Project Management team(s), ensuring all projects are managed effectively and according to client expectations. He/she will be an active member of the Global Project Management team, participating in global objectives and driving the development of the global project management function. As an active member of the site (s) leadership team representing Project Management, participating in site decisions and initiatives and striving to meet revenue, metrics and goals. The Director Project Management will promote continuous improvement in all aspects of the job: coordination with Sales, Operations, Client Services, EH&S and QA to ensure the highest level of client service.
Accept leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Global PM Director.
Effectively support, supervise and monitor performance of Sr. PM Managers, Sr. Project Managers, Project Managers and Coordinators in the management of assigned projects.
Ensure the project management team are trained and developed appropriately to meet the needs of the business and allow individuals to reach their full potential.
Ensure the project management team adheres to all G&O set. Ensure the project management team complies to all PM process/tools/metrics.
Assumes the role of client advocate and ensures all Senior PM Managers, Senior Project Managers, Project Managers.
and Coordinators act as client advocate. Represents the client with respect to potential scheduling conflicts. Provide effective support to teams as required and be the point of escalation for issues that Senior PM Managers, Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Coordinators need support to resolve.
Ensures the project management team supply required information and participate in forecasting, revenue and S&OP activities. Contributes positively and proactively to the organizational function of the Project Management team and strives to improve the current processes
Minimum of Chemistry, Life Sciences, business degree or equivalent and 8 - 10 years in a client facing, project management or scientific environment.
In-depth knowledge of the contract development / research, pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
Proven knowledge of project management
Customer related experience and excellent client
facing skills - desire to meet and indeed exceed customers expectations
Leadership, negotiation, presentation and facilitation skills
