Senior Financial Analyst
The Finance Department is responsible for the financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable function of the RTP site. Additionally, the group is responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, budgets, forecasts, and providing analysis and decision support to Corporate, Sterile and RTP site management teams as requested.
The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Finance Director.
The Senior Financial Analyst has the responsibility for all aspects of project accounting. The Financial Analyst will be required to assist the Finance Department with month-end close, analysis, forecasting and budgeting. In addition, the Financial Analyst will provide ad hoc support to projects/requests within the Finance Department as well as the Project Management function. Comply with divisional and site Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
The Role (daily responsibilities)
Supports the FP&A Manager with the financial planning and budgeting processes; Works with the FP&A Manager in establishing financial models and metrics to support and analyze annual strategic plans and initiatives.
Understands how business decisions impact financial results of the business unit and utilizes financial tools to help calculate and monitor key business targets, including revenue, Contribution Margin, SG&A and EBITDA as well as asset financial metrics including ROA, ROI, IRR.
Integrates analytical concepts into the business for decision-making and educates key decision-makers on how to improve financial performance.
Identifies key variables that predict business performance and recommends process improvements based on data analysis to reduce costs, streamline work processes, and improve profitability.
Supports the Finance Director and FP&A Manager with the preparation of presentations for operations and business reviews as well as forecast and plan review meetings, including monthly B.U. forecast calls (Day 5), weekly sales flash.
Supports both commercial and operating teams with month-end reporting as well as forecast and plan providing data, analysis and financial information.
Provides ad hoc support to projects/requests within the Finance department as well as the Project Management function
The Candidate (requirements)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; 5-7 years general accounting experience
Experience with ERP software and Project Accounting Modules; Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication skills, results oriented & analytical, detail oriented and ability to work independently.
