Catalent Pharma Solutions Project Manager in Kansas City, Missouri
The Project Manager will report directly to the Senior Project Manager team as a key member of the Project Management Department at the Kansas City site.
The Project Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of projects that may span across multiple Catalent business lines and sites.

Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
To succeed as client advocate, the Project Manager must be responsible for the successful completion of every project in their charge ensuring they are delivered on time, to the client’s expectations and within budget. The PM must work successfully with a diverse team of Catalent employees to manage the project throughout the full Catalent lifecycle from proposal to close out.
These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Client and Sales:
Assumes the role of client advocate and acts as a primary client communication focal point for project team.
Can speak to all Catalent business services and promotes Catalent at client meetings and conferences.
Helps drive any negotiation with the client for increase/decrease in the contracted scope of work.
Project Management and Financial Responsibilities:
Controls and monitors project progress to ensure that milestones are accomplished on time and escalated as needed.
Establishes budget baseline and initiates project financial tracking. Monitors the project budget and maintains all milestones in PeopleSoft so that appropriate invoicing and revenue recognition can be accomplished in a timely manner.
Establish full project plans, including timeline, critical path assessment, risk assessment, contingency planning, mitigation planning, communication planning, contact listing, and confirm scope capture during planning phase of a project.
At initiation of project, the PM ensures that communication lines are clearly defined by issuing a communication plan and contact matrix in conjunction with the client.
Evaluates and adds details to project plan initiated during the proposal in conjunction with all participating departments for confirmation at the initiation of the project. Any changes or additions to the schedule will be first verified against the master schedule and then agreed upon with the client.
Lead client kick off meetings, project close out meetings and facilitate project meetings throughout the execution phase of projects.
Education or Equivalent:
- Minimum of Chemistry or Life Sciences Degree, business degree or equivalent and 3 years in a client facing/project management or scientific environment.
Working knowledge of the contract development / research, pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
Customer related experience and excellent client facing skills - desire to meet and indeed exceed customers’ expectations
Experience of using MS Office programs, including MS project
